EXCEPTION:
M-F 0600-0800 access is reserved for Active Duty only (PT uniform required).
Note: Locker Rooms, Sauna & Shower access is only during staffed hours: Mon - Fri from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. The locker rooms will remain closed during unstaffed 24/7 hours.

Requirements to use 24 Hour Access: Must have a CAC to enter the building, and a registration/waiver signed and submitted in person.

Additional Offerings:

  • NEW: Pickleball Court - Located across from the tennis courts.  Open play available. Pickleball equipment available at the AA Fitness Center.
  • Tennis Courts - There are 7 courts available for play in the Aberdeen Area including 3 (lighted) courts in the 3300 block. 5 courts are located in the Edgewood Area; 2 in the E4100 block and 3 in the E4600 block.
  • Fitness Paths - We have 2 fitness paths in the Aberdeen Area (Plumb Point area and Fanshaw Field area) and, 1 in the Edgewood area around the Airfield.
  • Multi-Purpose Athletic Fields - Fields are located in both the Aberdeen (3300 block) and Edgewood Areas (E4100 block). Fields are lighted and are used for softball, soccer and flag football.
  • Fitness Equipment Checkout - Jump ropes, exercise bands, free weight bar clamps, etc.
General Policies
  • Authorized patrons are defined by AR 215-1 and must be age 18 or over (Active Duty (AD) can be age 17) to utilize AA Fitness Center and EA Fitness Center/Hoyle Gym.
  • Athletic bags cannot be stored in the exercise equipment areas or around cardiovascular equipment due to safety and crowded conditions. Bags must be stored in lockers or storage bins.
  • During peak participation times or when individuals are waiting to use cardiovascular exercise, there is a 20-minute time limit on each piece of equipment.
  • Patrons using the center are required to scan in using a valid military/DOD identification card upon entry.
  • Eye protection is required by all patrons when playing racquetball or handball.

Fitness Centers Children and Age Policy
  • Children 12 years old and under are not authorized in the gym at any time.
  • Family members and youth (13-15 years old) must be actively participating in the same activity and under the direct supervision of a parent or guardian, who is 18 years of age or older at all times. Exceptions to this rule are special programs organized and conducted by CYS, schools, or other authorized youth organization. Sponsors who do not abide by this rule, will be asked to leave the facility.
  • Eligible family members 16 years and over presenting a valid military ID card that verifies age may enter unaccompanied and use all services in the facility, abiding by all rules and regulations as long as the gym has an employee present. The sponsor is still responsible for the actions of these family members while they are in the facility.
  • Family members under 18 years of age may not participate in APG MWR Sports Leagues, Tournaments or Group activities unless specifically allowed by AR-215-1. They may not compete with active-duty military patrons unless they are participating in a program that is family oriented such as runs and fitness classes.
  • During unstaffed hours, anyone under the age of 17 years old must be actively participating in the same activity and under the direct supervision of a parent or guardian, who is 18 years of age or older at all times.
  • Sponsors are solely responsible for anyone that they bring into the gym at all times. Failure to adhere to the policies outlined above could result in forfeiture of access to the gyms in both locations as deemed necessary by the Garrison Commander.
